2024.......still going strong.
May 2024
- The last 12 months have provided opportunities for us to work with some great clients all around Western Australia. From our base in the Great Southern we have enjoyed the rural lifestyle whilst still providing the high quality service our clients expect.
- We have also continued our online presence and in 2023 we developed and delivered a webinar series for the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries (DLGSC) providing local government Club Development Officers and representatives from State Sports Associations with information and advice on how to support clubs and community groups with a strategic planning process.
- We continued to provide a service to major visitor attractions in 2023 with a sales and merchandising training program for staff at the WA Museum - Boola Bardip.
- We were pleased to develop and deliver a range of club development workshops throughout 2023 for the Cities of Bayswater, Mandurah and Rockingham and the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale on planning, financial management, greater volunteer engagement and stronger governance and management arrangements.
- The work we pioneered with local government authorities (LGAs) to provide one-on-one coaching, mentoring and specific support in areas such as strategic planning, financial management and volunteer management continued throughout 2023 with clubs in the Cities of Rockingham and Mandurah and the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale accessing our service.
- We were pleased to continue our work with the Dambimangari Aboriginal Corporation in Derby during 2023 with the drafting of a Director's Handbook to assist the corporation's directors with their governance and management activities.
- Another repeat business client in 2023 was SMYL Community Services. We were given the opportunity to work with the SMYL Board of Directors on the development of a succession strategy.
- We kicked off our 2024 workshop activity in mid-February. We have already delivered workshops for the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale on effective management committee membership and raising the profile and visibility of a club and for the City of Cockburn on building happy teams. Workshops for the City of Rockingham on succession planning, governance and club visibility are already confirmed and in the diary. We also had the opportunity to work with the Shire of Collie on the development of a strategic plan for the Collie Eagles Football Club.
- The individualised club support service has once again proved to be popular with confirmation from a number of LGAs for us to work with nominated clubs, mostly on strategic planning processes, commencing at the end of May and continuing throughout the year.
- Like many places in the southern half of the state we have been waiting for the rain to arrive and thankfully this week brought the first of the autumn and winter storms. What were very dry and dusty paddocks have started the transformation to something a lot greener
- We love being busy with our life on the farm, but we always have time for new and interesting work - so if you have something you want to discuss, please contact us. Regards
